Brunch at Cafe Orlin in East Village NYC

After hearing rave reviews about this East Village gem, I finally decided to wait in the long line for this incredible brunch.  Cafe Orlin has a middle-eastern flair with hints of Israeli, Turkish and Morrocan flavor. After waiting about 15 minutes for 3 of us, we sat among many many many other hungry brunch-goers.

Review
Bloody mary, no. Bloody Maria, yes!  First things first, get some caffeine and some booze.  I was convinced to try the Bloody Maria and am glad I did just for the experience: it was smooth and spicy but def not my favorite.

Bloody Maria. With Tequila instead of Vodka.

While we waited we reviewed the menu.  I literally could have ordered anything on the menu.. luckily, the 3 of us ordered different meals so I got to try some different dishes:

Spinach Feta and Kalmata Olives Omelet
  • Who knew olives in an omelet is incredible?  So savory and tasty!

Steak and Eggs

  • Whatever the spinach sauce was could have made the worst tasting dish delicious.  But this was delicious.  One of the best steak and egg dishes in the city..

Norwegian Salmon Benedict

  • What an underwhelming dish:  I bet this was great, but I may just be sick of eggs Benedict.  Good thing the potatoes were out of this world.  Seriously, best home fries yet!

Last Call:
Feed me more.  I want to try everything for brunch and come back for breakfast.  I love my eggs Bennie.. but think that this is the first brunch that I’m feeling over it.. but everything else is amazing.  I’ll be back for more.

Brunch Review:  4.5 out of 5 mimosas
