After hearing rave reviews about this East Village gem, I finally decided to wait in the long line for this incredible brunch. Cafe Orlin has a middle-eastern flair with hints of Israeli, Turkish and Morrocan flavor. After waiting about 15 minutes for 3 of us, we sat among many many many other hungry brunch-goers.
Review
Bloody mary, no. Bloody Maria, yes! First things first, get some caffeine and some booze. I was convinced to try the Bloody Maria and am glad I did just for the experience: it was smooth and spicy but def not my favorite.
While we waited we reviewed the menu. I literally could have ordered anything on the menu.. luckily, the 3 of us ordered different meals so I got to try some different dishes:
- Who knew olives in an omelet is incredible? So savory and tasty!
- Whatever the spinach sauce was could have made the worst tasting dish delicious. But this was delicious. One of the best steak and egg dishes in the city..
- What an underwhelming dish: I bet this was great, but I may just be sick of eggs Benedict. Good thing the potatoes were out of this world. Seriously, best home fries yet!
Last Call:
Feed me more. I want to try everything for brunch and come back for breakfast. I love my eggs Bennie.. but think that this is the first brunch that I’m feeling over it.. but everything else is amazing. I’ll be back for more.
